takashistorm
recently utorrent stopped working on my computer. i dont know why, but it sucks. whenever i double click the exe the programs goes to the tray but wont fully open. when i double click the tray icon, it does nothing, when i right click, it does nothing. ive tried restarting my computer, and ive tried erasing and reinstalling the program several times, nothing has changed! when i download a new torrent, the window will open asking if i want to download it through utorrent, and when i select ok, it just freezes. i dont even care if i have to switch bittorrents, i just wanna be able to keep downloading the things ive started with utorrent that are still in the process of downloading. i dont wanna have to get a new program and try and find all the links again. please help. DreadWingKnight
Does the uTorrent entry show in the task bar (sort of like how your web browser does)?
takashistorm
i dont know what you mean. it will open from the tray about 5 minutes after i double click it, but it just freezes on the screen and wont show me anything. it was working fine until a few days ago. and now everytime i try and run the exe it just tries to install the program again and again, or it says that utorrent is already running but not responding.since no one was willing to try and help me, i installed bittorrent to replace utorrent. but alas, THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM OCCURS! btw, utorrent and bittorrent are identical. thelittlefire
Thank you for the report.. we know bittorrent client from bittorrent.com is uTorrent. Actually, the bittorrent client can be out of sync with the latest uT by a week (they don't always make synchronous releases after a uT update, due to time needed to add the bits for DNA/streaming)You've checked a HiJackThis logfile.. for known incompatible software? and unnecessary hooks into utorrent.exe with Process Explorer ? DreadWingKnight
Iolo antivirus is known to be problematic in some configurations.Additionally, you have three antivirus software applications that may be tripping over each other.
