moogly Posted February 24, 2009 Report Share Posted February 24, 2009 I noticed Transmission has released a new version (1.50) with IPv6 support for peers and trackers.And now when I load a popular torrent in uT (like TV show e.g.), I see a ton of Transmission 1.50 clients connected to mine and sometimes neck and neck with uTorrent!!I believe it wasn't as important before. :mad:Anyway after 10 or 20 min, Transmission 1.50 pool decreases slowly and uTorrent peers become the majority.So am I dreaming or is it really a consequence of a better compatibility between the 2 clients or IPv6 support? Switeck Posted April 19, 2009 Report Share Posted April 19, 2009 There are still minor connectivity issues between Transmission clients and uTorrent clients, but they're very minor with Transmission 1.51. moogly Posted April 19, 2009 Author Report Share Posted April 19, 2009 I was very surprised to see Transmission 1.51 initiates a ton of requests at low speed, when uT allows only 1 to 5 at the same speed level.Maybe it depends how the user has set its Transmission client... There must be significant bandwidth costs to doing that as well, if there's a substantial number of Transmission clients in the Torrent swarm.
