scottyyy
Hey guys. I'm just wondering if I should give up on this torrent or see if I can find a way around it. Basically I'm trying to download a torrent which only has 1 seed, and I don't think it ever will have more than 1 seed haha. However when it's downloading uTorrent bans the peer because of hash check failures. I don't know much about how torrents work and such, but does this mean he is uploading corrupt data or something? Is there a way for me to make uTorrent not ban this guy? Otherwise I won't be able to get these files.Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks
schnurlos
Exact: hash failures means the sending of corrupt data. But if he is the only seed and you're sure the data of the torrent is ok, you can set (in "Advanced") bt.use_ban_ratio to false.Info about these settings you can find here http://download.utorrent.com/utorrent-help.zip too. scottyyy
Thanks, but I set that to false and it still bans him.edit: actually I think this data is beyond help. I've downloaded 1.14GB of this torrent, even though it's a 300MB torrent, and I only have 1.5% of the files.
Firon
You can't disable banning completely. Honestly, you need to find a different torrent in this case.
Switeck
If there's a tight grouping of ips in your peers list, they are probably hostile poisoner clients...and need to be added as an ip range to your ipfilter.dat file!Example ranges:http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=46221
