utorrent using up 1.2 gb of ram then crashing

im really confused as to the cause of this. i leave my computer on all the time, and when i turn on utorrent, it slowly builds its way up to 1.2 gb of memory usage (this usually takes 24 hrs or so) and then it crashes. well i have to end the process manually, and then restart it, then the cycle begins again. i noticed the sticky about utorrent crashes, but im not sure they apply to me. please help!

I have the same problem but I haven't had my computer crash yet and it looks like it only goes up

when you have active torrents, but not sure on that. I'm using 1.8.3 beta.

A previous user had issues with this service of McAfee, disable or uninstall it. To disable it, run services.msc and disable it. Check if uT continues to bloat your RAM and crash.

I have the same problem.

Memory use increases until uTorrent crashes at 1.2GB.

I'm using Windows Vista 64bit with SP1 and uTorrent 1.8.2

It has stopped now when it got updated, but i changed some options to so not sure.

the options that I turned off was; increase number of upslots if upsped <90% and protocol encryption.

Did you remove McAfee Advisor? I don't understand what you have updated...

yes but McAfee Advisor hasn't been a problem before, I have been using it for 8months now together. The update was a automatic and beta so not sure what number it is.
