pipeash2
With the old version, when the Log blocked ip was checked, I was seeing a list of blocked ips. It seems that it is not the case with the new version. My ipfilter source is blocklist manager and the list has been saved for emule. ipfilter option is true and the list is loaded as I see in the logger. The lack of blocked ips in the logger means that it blocks nothing at all?
jewelisheaven
The viewing of blocked connections have been made optional. To show them, Logger tab right click > Peer traffic logging > log blocked connectionsI will admit I was a huge proponent of making it optional. For those who use the Logger tab to log to a file and who don't want things like that, or those who use it to only show important errors, it tended to clutter things up, especially when those pesky injected IPs kept trying to connect every 10 seconds.NOTE: The connections are still blocked whether you are told they are or not. pipeash2
Hello, Thanks but I started my question by LOG BLOCKED IPs is CHECKED...The new version does not show the blocked ips I think or do simply not block them.
moogly
You have to enable ipfilter.dat in Peers tabs (right click) AND enable notification in Logger tab about blocked connections. If uT doesn't block some IPs, maybe your ipfilter is bad written or there is no IP to block. pipeash2
OK cheaps please read what I wrote before giving ideas unless you could not stop yourself in a frenzy envy to show yourself. Everything is checked before including the ipfilter dat which is running under uTorrent 1.8.1 without problem. The problem, if there exists one, is when everything is settled down correctly that uT 1.8.2 does not show the blocked ips with the same configuration than the older version. Here is the problem. This is NOTHING to DO with Configuration. So here we are, either the uT 1.8.2 does not block ips or does not show what it blocks.
moogly
I'm using the same ipfilter.dat from 1.7.5 and that has always worked fine, current 1.8.2 included.I adds IPs to ipfilter weekly and uT blocks them immediately from Peers tab.How did you write in ipfilter.dat the IPs you pretend that uT doesn't block?Report an example here. pipeash2
Jewelishheaven READ my First Sentence please before asking questions: Message of uT [2009-05-16 20:25:16] Loaded ipfilter.dat (322135 entries) This is a LOGGER MESSAGE!!!To bring a first answer we need to know about the architecture of uT 1.8.2 to interprete ipfilter.dat structures. Zeros should be a problem in the new version. Cheers
moogly
Zeros are not the problem, uT can read this ipfilter.
pipeash2
If I understand well, you point that uT bloks the connections from the ipfilter list. In this case it does not show them as in the older version, even if the Log Blocked connections is Checked in Peer Traffic Logging. It seems that there is a bug. So reported to the attention of programmers.
moogly
You can test it to be sure. Leech a popular torrent and add a range with 2 or 3 peers from this torrent into filter.dat. Check that IPs are blocked and the logger reports it (or not).
pipeash2
Good idea. I did and it worked. It bloks but do not list blocked ips in the logger. So, it seems that there is a bug and, is reported to the attention of programmers.
