vx4clj
I am downloading a file, and it is completely downloaded, and now the status is "seeding." However there are 0 out of 543 seeds connected and there is already more uploaded than downloaded. Three questions: When will it stop uploading/seeding?When will I be able to use the file? Will it work/work quicker if there are seeds connected and how do I increase the number of seeds connected? moogly
You upload to peers, not to seeds that have already 100% of the torrent. So it's normal as seed you aren't connected to seeders. You are able to use the torrent when it's complete or files within it are complete. Whatever you are seeding the torrent or you have stopped it.
Switeck
Do note that as far as uTorrent is concerned...ANY changes to the file = DAMAGE!So if by using it, you're changing it...you can no longer seed it correctly. Some media players silently edit files -- you have to go into their settings to DISABLE such features.

moogly
Seeding is you have the complete torrent and you are uploading to other peers.http://www.utorrent.com/documentation/beginners-guide
vx4clj
I had a look at that link and it says the proper practice is to seed to a 1:1 ratio; I have done that, and it is completly downloaded, but how do I actually stop it from running in the torrent and use the actual program? moogly
uT is just a bittorrent download manager, it shares only data.Open the folder (double click or right click > Open containing folder) where you have downloaded the data associated to the torrent job and use a specific software to use/read data.
