Please Help Me!

My torrents were downloading fine until i used a program called Simple Port Forwarding.

The Program messed up my internet connection, the had a friend fix it by messing with the router settings. So now I can surf the internet and also download files. I cannot download torrents on Utorrent, BitComet or Vuze, but it works on Vuze. I also know its not a router problem because I can download using Utorrent on my old Xp laptop.

When it tries to load a tracker it says "No Connection Could Be Made Because The Target Machine Actively Refused it", and under DHT it says " 0 Node (Login).

Here is some info on my system:

Lenovo IdeaPad Y 430 Laptop

Operating System Vista Sp1 Home Premium Edition

Internet Connection is wireless

My router is UtStarcom 3000

I also disabled windows firewall and deleted my antivirus

I don't know much about Networking so, any help would be greatly appreciated Thank You.

Try to enter into the router setup (maybe via this URL http://192.168.1.1/) and forward manually a port (and clean the previous port forwarding rules if some ones are present).

To find a guide, look at here:

http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm

They have a list of UtStarcom routers, check if yours is present (or use another one, router firmwares are often similar). Then search uTorrent to get the guide to forward a port for uT.

If your router firmware is different, find online the manual of your router (on the manufacturer/ISP website)

I don't think its the router's fault because I can download on another computer which connects through the same router.

Ok. And do you see this error for each torrent with a different tracker?

Or is it specific to a tracker?

Yes it is for every single tracker, even a torrent with many seeds will not connect to a tracker

Does the problem persist with torrents like those for openoffice or slackware?

Openoffice does not download also.

Then something, either on your computer or at your internet provider, is blocking it.

Yes, im pretty sure its my computer because downloading from a different computer on the same network works.

One more thing I just found out was that i cant automatically download plug ins on firefox or update any software automatically.... hope its relevant info.
