Firon
Those are created by Scandisk and chkdsk I think, when there's sectors found that don't belong to any file anymore...
tCm
Ah! I see.So, if my computer seems to work fine after chkdsk or scandisk has run, I could safely remove these..?Thanks Firon (the guy with all the answers!)/tCm
Firon
Well, you could examine the files to find out what they were, and possibly keep them if it's a document of yours or something. ps if you see the string JFIF with a hex editor, that's a jpeg image gif89a is gif, ‰PNG is (you guessed it) png, word documents have Microsoft Word Document near the end
Animorc
Yes. It's from the "Orphaned" files that checkdisk finds and tries to restore. The files inside the folders are mostly working, but it might be a bit bothersome to find out what each file is because of the names.
