Ok, severe newbie here. Just downloaded and installed the utorrent client. I ran the Torrent setup guide, and the Network test results indicate: "Port is not open (you are still able to download)."

Below that is says: "current port: (0: random) 44538

The check-box is selected for "automatic port mapping (recommended)

What does this mean? Which port is not open??? How do I fix this??

Thanks!

hi im also having the same problem as above. i've done lots and lots of reading on the problem and i'm guessing i have to do a port forward thingo but i've also read that my router has already got UPnP on and it should do it automatically. ive turned off windows firewall and set my norton up to allow the port number but it still says my port is not open. is there any way to get it connected without doing a port forward because i cant find instructions that match my router and i get confused.

thanks :)

Ok , so which port should be open?

Additional details: My isp is cable. The machine is hardwired with cat 5 cable. It's going through a linksys router.

I do have access to the router configuration settings. So, tell me what exactly do I need to configure? Which port should be open?

Thanks!
