DexSK
Ive recently updated utorrent to the mentioned build and noticed the abrupt speed reduction to roughly 10% of my line bandwidth,I guess this is a bug, didn't change any settings. I'm running Win7 x64 Ultimate.
Switeck
Try rafi's uTorrent v2.0.1 Migration Guide here: http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=74820
DexSK
downgrading back to the previous build solved my problem, all settings were OK until then.
Switeck
Probably not a bug then...especially since the v2.0.1 version handles overheads different.
DexSK
downgraded to v2.0 build 18296
Switeck
Once again, that's probably not a bug.
DexSK
oh crap. Ive tried the migration guide, reproduced everything including the advanced steps and disabling UTP completely, didn't help, the test torrent has a dl rate of 25% my line bandwidth (200kB/sec max). crap. with the default settings absolutely not-working and me having to play with them to get it up and running, I'm downgrading back again to my previous build. not that i'm complaining about the soft, it's the ultimate bt client, but how about you developers playing with testing the new builds to let the defaults work for all people? :-)edit...after downgrade the ubuntu test torrent runs @ 740kB/sec...isn't it enough to be suspicious? Switeck
My guess is overhead tracking in v2.0.1 may be crippling speeds. If none of the above work, try setting net.calc_overhead = FALSE.
DexSK
seems problem solved, thanks
rafi
seems to me you didn't follow the quide's guidelines correctly... like not setting a proper upload limit
DexSK
for my speed it's 47kB/sec...I got in on
Switeck
Non-bug, moving this thread to Troubleshooting forum.
rafi
your 10kBps UL limit for a 800kBps DL ? read the guide again...
DexSK
hmmm...what I've heard, a 5kB minimum is set for the bt protocol, else it throttles download speed...to punish pure leechers... I'm not a pure seeder...
rafi
if your net.calc_overhead is "true" you need to set 5-15% of your DL speed (=the ack-overhead) as your upload limit
DexSK
ah I see...so that's why ok, thanks for the heads up, problem solved anyway keep up the good work, and good luck
