jonq
Hello, I installed utorrent on an old windows xp desktop which acts kinda like a media server I can't for some reason access the web ui when not physically connected to my comp. When ever I try to reach it via wifi, or external ip, I just get re-directed to my Qwest modem page. The wifi setup is internet > Qwest Modem (via ethernet) > Netgear N router (via wifi) > Desktop. The main reason I'm trying to set this up is to get it to work with my Android phone's utorrent management app. Anyhelp is appreciated, I frankly wouldn't even know where to start to troubleshoot this own my own. paintball9
You need to port-forward on both devices or run the modem in bridge mode.
jonq
you mean on the modem and the router?
DreadWingKnight
If the qwest modem is a 2wire like we think it is, yes.In fact, if it's any of the devices listed on portforward.com it needs to be port forwarded or bridged.
jonq
It's actually an actiontec Q1000 (if that matters lol). Thanks for the heads up I'll try that, I don't recall seeing an option in the modem configuration page for bridged mode is that like turning DHCP on the modem so that my router can handle it instead? Thanks again I really appreciate the help.
DreadWingKnight
There's more to it than that, you should probably google for "actiontec q1000 bridge" to see what steps you need to follow.
