Makaveli
Under the advanced options, there is a place to manually add the IP to report to tracker. So, lets say I enter 123.252.209.369. Is there any way for someone to find out what my actual IP address is? I guess I'm a little confused on this option, and curious as to what other ways there are besides setting up a proxy to hide my IP when torrenting. Thanks! DreadWingKnight
You establish a peer connection to them, they get your IP.Not all trackers will allow the ip= paramater. There's no real way to hide your ip.
Makaveli
So what good does that setting do?And does PeerGuardian work well?
DreadWingKnight
The setting is for users who run a tracker behind the same NAT as they seed from.PeerGuardian's blocklists are far too inaccurate to be effective.
splintax
Some people claim that they block anti-p2p agencies, but without a doubt they block a shitload of legitimate traffic, too. However, I find they work very well as placebos.
