Got a copyright infringement with my PC, now I have a MAC

Hello

I got a letter from ISP (Verizon) and though no charges are being pressed for so-called "copyright infringement" I was warned. I'd like to know how I could protect myself from ISP's keeping track on me. I'm not doing anything illegal of course, but maybe some software can keep my IP addy hidden, or anonymous. Could someone help me out or point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance

There are services that sell you a private VPN line to their servers and then you can torrent without fear but that costs $$ per month. (search: anonymous proxy vpn bittorrent).

You can only stay safe if you don't download from public torrent sites and get a membership on a private site.

All other solutions don't work and are snake oil.

This "solution" is snake oil too. "Private" sites aren't that private.

Maybe so but you're much safer on some small private site than on a public one... especially a site that's not based in US. ;)
