tricke Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 When uTorrent is running, it keeps waking up my NAS drive from power save. I'm not sure why this happens but if I close uTorrent, the drive sleeps (power saves) properly. Is there there some kind of broadcast that uTorrent does that I can disable? The NAS drive is a QNAP TS-109. I have disabled nearly all the services on it (web server, bittorrent client, FTP, etc) and left only the Twonky media server enabled. Any ideas would be much appreciated.
moogly Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 LPD maybe? Especially if the NAS has a built-in BT client.
tricke Posted April 23, 2011 Author Report Posted April 23, 2011 Thanks for the reply. I already have unchecked local peer discovery. No joy. Any other ideas would be appreciated.
moogly Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 Maybe UPnP/NAT-PMP because uT is trying to find some devices connected to the LAN.
DreadWingKnight Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 Do you have any directories in your uTorrent preferences set to use the NAS drive?
tricke Posted April 26, 2011 Author Report Posted April 26, 2011 thanks for your help, guys. DreadWhiteknight, i haven't got any drives mapped other than C: moogly, I've just tried disabling both UPnP/NAT-PMP and it seems to have cured the problem. I'm not sure if there is a downside other than not being able to use automatic port mapping.I will monitor this today and if the problem resurfaces, i'll update this thread.thanks
