rast4man
I've been using UT since early beta and I'm JUST noticing since i installed a new interactive firewall that prior to me even using UT to download a file/movie/etc, that there are literally hundreds of incoming connections trying to connect on all different ports. I'm wondering why this is happening when I'm not even downloading any files!? It actually happened right after I installed UT and it's consistent and I'm concerned and actually getting annoyed with all of these connections. Anyone have an answer?Thanks,rast4man
ktetch
Do you have DHT running?
rast4man
Yes I do. Should I disable it?
ktetch
no. What you are seeing are the DHT connections. That's all. Not a big deal at all.
rast4man
Well I know the aspects of DHT but what has me concerned is that I specified a port to use and not do random ports and the connections that are incoming aren't on the port I specified. Having the interactive firewall is almost a PITA because of all the interaction it requires. If you could, can you explain why so many connections are coming in that aren't on the port which I specified? I'm sure it's not a big deal but I like to play it safe.TIA,rast4man
DreadWingKnight
Are you actually looking at the local port? Are you actually looking at the direction of the communications?
