Sturrurr
Hi,I seem to be having a problem with Utorrent, well not with the program itself but the upload speeds, and I am wondering if anybody could help me with that? I have had a Demonoid.me account for a while and I have also had Utorrent installed for a while but never used it until recently. I have downloaded a few files lately some slower than others, the download speed is not the problem though because I have been downloading at 1MB and above. The problem lies at the upload speed. I have 100MB download speeds and 4MB upload speed in England with my ISP, but at the moment I am only using 300 KB to 500KB on the upload section. I don't really have a good understanding about torrents, leechers, seeders etc, but what I do understand is that my upload speed has far better potential than a mere 300KB. I have tried a few guides on the internet. The more recent the better, so I have been using this http://www.wikihow.com/Configure-uTorrent. I hope it is ok to display that link here, I have also tried a few others to no affect. As I am using demonoid.me I must share as much as I take, if I can get my upload to perform at the level it's capable of I can actually share a great deal in such a short space of time. That is the main reason I want to increase my upload speed. The guys who specialise in uploading/downloading it would be great to hear from you. DreadWingKnight
Guide fails for not providing accurate settings nor explaining their settings properly. If you're dealing with heavily seeded torrents, you will NOT be able to upload fast. Sturrurr
I only used the guide because it came under recent in Google. It would be stupid to look for a guide from 2008 when everything would have changed since then. I am not in a position to tweak settings myself as I don't understand too much about torrents that is why I used a guide. If the guide I followed is crap does anybody have a guide that actually works? I'm using a high end PC with a decent download and upload internet ISP.I wanted to ask as well do I need to open any ports on my router to increase the upload speed on the torrents? On Utorrent it always say Network ok with the green tick icon. The download speed works a treat when I'm downloading a file but the upload speed is pathetic. Sturrurr
I have used the guide on this website before it never really made a difference for some odd reason. I followed the guide and made the changes and downloaded the file at 4.1MB but that was never the issue. It was the upload that was the issue so I downloaded a fresh torrent that was recently added on the site I use to download the torrents and again the upload is sticking at 300KB to 500KB. When I run a Broadband Speed Test the speed is always at 4.9MB Upload with the download speed being at 100MB, well not always at 100MB but most of the time, but again the downloading is not a problem. It's the upload that is the issue, is 300 - 500KB overall per second good compared to having almost 5MB of upload at all times? I don't believe it is, unless I have the calculations completely wrong. Sturrurr
Sorry for the double post but I had to do this. This is the highest upload I have had thus far. Is that good enough for 4.0MB upload? Whereas on the following two screenshots I am downloading a file but getting a really high upload instead of download lol. Any thoughts on that?I am new to torrenting so I don't quite understand all of this. It's very weird. I am starting to think my upload is maxed out but unless somebody tells me I don't quite know what to believe. Is there anything else anybody can suggest to improve it? I have used the guide on this website.Had to edit the images as they were unclickable to make larger.

Sturrurr
uTorrent displays in *byte/secspeedtest.net gives results in *bit/secI'm sorry I do not follow lol. Is that relevant to the point I made? Not being a dick, I just have no idea what you are getting at. I'm sure in the world of "clever" or in the world of "code" that would mean a lot to somebody but me with my non genious computer skills I don't have a clue. DreadWingKnight
a 4mbit line will only give between 400 and 500kbyte/sec total speed.
Sturrurr
Slightly gutted about that. I was hoping something could be done to increase the upload, it appears that everything has been in full working order all along. I just thought that it was possible to make the upload higher because I was at 100MB download and 4 MB upload. Seeing as there is no issue with Utorrent and no issues with my connection I guess I'm done here with the topic anyhow. One last question if you read this thread again. It's not overly important to know but in the last two screenshots how was I uploading far more than I was downloading? I was downloading pretty slowly yet I was uploading at 400kb to one person who was ahead of me already. Thanks for the very quick replies.
Beasly
Speedtest.net has an option to adjust your speed setting results in kilobytes...Click on the "Settings" tab on top of the speedtest.net page and adjust to your preference...
