doublebassdanny
Hi there,I use uTorrent with my SSH tunnel and have been having an issue with torrents starting when using any but private trackers (What.CD works fine). I believe I have everything configured correctly for tunneling - torrents from What.CD come down very quickly, but I'm baffled by other trackers not starting. Where should I begin looking? Any ideas?-d
DreadWingKnight
What program are you using to make your tunnel?

DreadWingKnight
udp traffic doesn't get forwarded over such tunnels. That's why most DHT and udp based torrents don't work.

doublebassdanny
putty's SOCKS proxy doesn't support UDP.Very enlightening, thank you. Short of a genuine VPN setup - which I don't believe is a viable option with my current setup - are there any solutions to this (I'm thinking maybe netcat translation of UDP to TCP and back?) that might work?If not, I might just have to start downloading directly to the seedbox using a yet-unknown bash client (recommendations would be welcomed), then SCP the files over to my workstation.-d
Firon
You could set up Dante as a SOCKS5 proxy and use that. No SSH tunneling, just a direct connection.SS5's UDP support was also broken last time I checked, but Dante should work. It supports auth and you can always firewall it to restrict IP access.
