speed issues but previously fine

Okay, I've been using Utorrent for years, with no issues. I began a download recently and my speeds are horrible (fluctuating between nothing and 30kbs) and normally im at least above 200kbs to 300 sometimes on a file with at least a few seeders. Nothing has changed on my setup, no hardware firewall and the same client firewall ive always had and its worked fine behind it. I did test disabling it just to make sure. When I click on the peers tab it shows a bunch people with 100% but its not downloading from them...not sure if that relevant or not because i've never paid attention. Ive tried 3 or 4 different torrent files with many seeders to make sure it wasnt just one file.

Any advice would be appreciated.

1. Do a speedtest and check what your speeds are.

2. Check if you are limiting the global speeds in your settings.

3. Try few other more heavily seeded new torrents.

4. Maybe your ISP started shaping your internet for bittorrent.

I did try number 3. on your list. The torrent I picked had over a thousand seeders. Still slow speeds. I will try 1 and 2 when I get home tonight. I am afraid its number 4. though. SIGH.

Did you test torrents like slackware yet?
