DreadWingKnight
VPN: Torrent proxy via BT GuardMost likely the problem.
Reaper2794
Your reply is not helping Dread. If that is the problem, then why. Am I supposed to do just throw away my VPN? Since when do VPNs cause torrents to not work? You and that ciaobaby guy just post these 2 word reply's that are not helpful.
DreadWingKnight
It's that specific one with its very bad history. Also, DHT doesn't work over it because it doesn't forward UDP traffic.
Reaper2794
What do you mean "it's that specific one with it's very bad history"?My DHT is not always waiting to login, just sometimes, so I dont get what your 2nd comment means either
ciaobaby
BitTorrent client + BTGuard proxy = No chance! What do you want us to say????Proxies and VPNs "hide" your activity because you WILL have problems downloading anything and seeding is as close to impossible as you can get. ciaobaby
It is not just uTorrent, and the answer is UDP, which does NOT work successfully over proxy servers simply because UDP is used for speed not reliability, so it relies on port numbers for delivery and checksums for data integrity, and anything that "gets in the way" of packet transfer can 'break' the data flow between network nodes. ciaobaby
Not lies as such, simply part of the ENORMOUS amount of mis-information that exists "on the Internet" about almost everything.
