Stuck on Downloading Metadata

Hi

Quite frequently I get stuck on 'Downloading Metadata' for certain torrents, whilst at the same time others download just fine.

If I go to ~/Library/Application Support/uTorrent and delete dht.dat and dht.dat.old files then those stuck at 'Downloading metadata' start downloading but then a few days later I will run into the same problem

I dont have any internet security software and Im running uTorrent v1.8.4

Any ideas of a more permanent fix?

iTunes 11.1.3

Mac Mini 2011 16gb RAM 2.3ghz i5

Same issue here with uTorrent 1.9.1(30063) on OSX 10.9.1.

I noticed that some downloads added with magnet links stuck at "Downloading Metadata" or at "Checking 0%".

Stop and restart the download doesn't work, but sometimes downloads starts by shutdown uTorrent and launch it again.

Same problem here, but with the exception that I use a socks5-proxy and magnet-links.

If the proxy is turned off everything works fine. I have tried it with Vuze, Deluge, uTorrent, Bitlord, ... and all other possible torrent-clients for OS X. They all have the same problem as long as the proxy is turned on.

ONLY qbittorent was the one that works.

One my windows machine uTorrent also works pretty fine.

Same problem here: Version 1.9.0 (29250)

I've found that restarting uTorrent usually fixes the problem.
