ScubaSteve
just thought id say that the advanced option section isnt set out very clearly for noobs to use. it really should give some explaination as to what each things does. i think it was better layed out the old way. far easier to use for the new ppl that may need to use those options. Ultima
??The Advanced Options aren't for noobs to play with... hence the name... Some of the old Advanced Options have been moved into Other Options.
Karasuhebi
Well, it IS called the 'Advanced Options' menu for a reason... =P-Karasuhebi
lament
yet another reason for a wiki..
durerca
People should have an easy way to learn how a program works. A good UI should make advanced options something that can be learned and understood. I agree with ScubaSteeve that the old layout was better. invisend
hmm... in advanced options tab... may be... one more column with a brief explanation for each item in that list box is needed...
NiteShdw
I believe that page CLEARLY states: [WARNING: Do not modify!]
sal
I believe that page CLEARLY states: [WARNING: Do not modify!]That is kind of funny aye. I don't mind the Advanced Options page, reminiscent of Firefox' about:config.

darkbulb
I believe that page CLEARLY states: [WARNING: Do not modify!]No offense, but the warning kind of defeats the purpose. They are called OPTIONS exactly because they are supposed to be modified, Otherwise, why not simply omit them altogether?A more appropriate wording would be "Do not modify unless you know what you are doing".And yes, some explanations should be given, at least here in the forum (putting them in the program might encourage people to play with them a bit too much)Sorin
Burstin'
I think having teh warning as "Do not modify!" is the best because no "noob" is gonna mess with them, at all. Only people that know exactly what they are doing will mess with em and ignore the warning, works great.
ScubaSteve
im guessing theres going to be a wiki or help page of some kind that ppl can get to from a link in the about box.although it says do not modify there should still be somewhere explaining what each of the options does so that atleast the noobs can learn what they do and how they can be used. Iceman_B
Perhaps a [WARNING: Do not modify unless you know what you're doing!] is more fitting?Or just make it [WARNING: Don't modify if you're n00b] =)
ludow
Hello! We all are noobs sometimes. Advanced settings shud have explanations.UNLESS there is no difference (noticeable effect) for example changing "disk cache" setting. Keep it simple. I am asking for proper documentation too. ludow
