MrFrost
So I have a 150 down and 30 up connection, and I get awesome speed all the time or at least I did until I update to the latest utorrent. Now it seems that utorrent is throttling me based on how fast I choose to upload... if I put no cap on either, I download fast as usual but I also upload way faster than I want to. If I cap the upload my download speed suffers. Is there a way around this nonsense...?
DreadWingKnight
Upload reasonable for your connection and don't use external programs to do the throttling. And avoid following youtube setup guides.

I don't use external programs for throttling utorrent is just doing it whether I want it to or not. I turn down the upload and it slows down my download on it's own... really annoying. DreadWingKnight
How much do you turn the upload down?
justanuser
I have the exact same problem. My connection is D: 70 Mb/s and U: 20 Mb/s but the thing is, when I let everything unlimited I get extremely high upload speed (around 600 kB/s) and a really slow download speed (around 300 kB/s). When I set the upload limit, my download speed goes down as well. I use utorrent build 38913
DreadWingKnight
Same question. How low do you go?
justanuser
I tried low limits but high ones too (like 25 and 250 kB/s)
DreadWingKnight
Are you applying rate limits to UTP?
justanuser
Yes, I have both options checked "apply rate limit to transport ovehead" and "utp connections"
DreadWingKnight
Try with utp limiting disabled.
justanuser
It kinda worked. Now the download speed is high enough, but the upload limit is not been respected. It's not perfect, but at least my download speed is back high
DreadWingKnight
The thing with uTP is that it will automatically scale itself back based on the rest of the usage on your connection.
