How come utorrent only needs one port? / Flags

Utorrent has the option of using one port or random ports.
It still only needs one port. It doesn't just randomly use ports all the time. :D

maybe it uses random ports in the sense of "2 ports", "44 ports", "387 ports", that would be random isn't it? ;)

I believe it just uses a random number at startup and uses that port for that entire instance of uTorrent till it restarts.

No idea what the flags mean I am afraid though. Try searching the forums.

I did a search came up with this:

<rant>search forums someone has probably asked your question before</rant>

okay thanks :)

You could always get a unup router steve :)

But I'm using port 1412 as it was already open.

Does bitorrent need both tcp and udp ports open? (I know theres an faq, but this helps the community)

i dont like the idea of programs being able to automatically open ports in my router so i keep uPnP disabled in my router settings. I also dont like opening ranges as it provides more of a security risk.
