  1. uTP isn't to circumvent throttling, just solve the problem the ISPs report as their reason for throttling in the first place, in hopes they'll relax their attitudes in the future. Encrpytion on the other hand..
  2. Seyss: Do you not have one installed? Serves you right, if so. I have Avira installed and I don't see the message you're talking about. If you're downloading files from any p2p service/protocol you should have an antivirus installed. Seems like fair warning for them to include a message as thus. Edit: Completely wrong thread in mind here, chaps. Apologies.
  3. Baffling.. so Griffin 2.2 will now be... 4.0?
  4. I'm having issues where I'll click X to close uTorrent, the window will disappear as though it closed (though sometimes there's a substantial wait on that) and then hours later I'll discover utorrent.exe is still a running process in Task Manager - no CPU and next-to-no memory usage (3mb) but it doesn't respond to End Process requests.
  5. Any chance of seeing the magnet uri/maindoc.ico association bug fixed before 2.0.1 2.1 final? (As previously reported here and here, and independently reported/reproduced here. Jus' sayin' )
  6. Hey just wanted to throw in that I've been getting the "second time's the charm" issue when downloading betas (2.0.1) from here as well.
  7. Hmm perhaps that misnomer in the flags should be corrected then to avoid people busting out the tinfoil hats.
  8. MaK: It's a problem with the magnet association with a maindoc.ico. Our options until they fix it are to go with the default icons or to uncheck "check associations"
  9. I wasn't calling him a dick or anything. Chill out people. I was just saying that maybe he got it on the IRC channel or something and that it wasn't officially "out there" yet.
  10. It's not on the autoupdater or the first post so I'm thinking that wherever you got that build from, it isn't released yet.
  11. Firon enabled sounds like a good slogan.. "uTorrent: Firon enabled."
  12. I'd like to point out the following bug again since it got no answers: I figured out the problem with magnet association not sticking. Using a clean install of Windows 7 and uTorrent, it doesn't mess up (ie. all stay associated after install) until I put maindoc.ico into %AppData%\uTorrent. After that icon file goes in all associations need to be redone and uTorrent simply can't redo the magnet one with a custom icon for some reason. Removing maindoc.ico allows it to reassociate correctly with magnet links again. This is a really annoying bug if "check associations at start" is enabled, and I think that's a good option to have working so I see 3 options: 1- fix uTorrent to associate magnet links with the maindoc icon (as it should according to the skinning documentation); 2- workaround the problem by having it only associate files with the maindoc icon and associate magnets the way it would without a maindoc icon present; 3- workaround the annoyance by having Check associations ignore the error state of the magnet link association so it doesn't constantly bother one on program start about it.

    µTorrent WebUI

Odd then, I was getting the problems with resizing frames and menus not disappearing once opened until I manually added it to the list.. IE is so unreliable hah.

    µTorrent WebUI

Hi Ultima, great work on the WebUI thus far! Seems you're right about it requiring Compatibility View in IE for resizing frames and menus to work, however it doesn't give me the option and I had to add it manually to the list. Isn't there a tag you can put in to force Compatibility View? I would highly recommend it before you release this as stable to the masses. Cheers.

  16. Just off the bat reading the above post, it occured to me that to help avoid hurting smaller swarms perhaps streaming should be limited to swarms that contain a predefined (large) number of seeds and peers. Any intention for something like that built into Falcon?
  17. The Windows version DID also have a great UI to start with (and remains pretty much the same) however.. so I think they're just trying to follow the same pattern here, only difference is you're allowed to test the Alphas and Betas whereas before it was just Ludde and vurlix conspiring together on IRC while they worked out the UI kinks.
  18. Not sure when this began occuring, but I just downloaded something via WebUI and it put it in My Documents\Downloads when I'm sure the previous behavior was to place it in the "Put new downloads in.." folder even when that option was unchecked (which it is). Is that WebUI-side or on the backend, and if the latter, any chance of getting that back? On a separate note, the new toolbar and tstatus look pretty good, though the tstatus arrows feel a bit thin (all of them), and the tabs leave a little something to be desired and feel mismatched. Maybe I just had my hopes set on savaden's µniversal v2 as the new default though. Looks crazy professional. And another thing, that behavior you said was intentional where the magnet URI association button remains ungreyed now results in uTorrent asking me to reassociate every time it starts. P.P.S. The discrepency on the Setup Guide I reported in the beta thread is odd too.. I use the preset for 1 mbit and Save & Close, and then I reopen the dialog and it has my current settings pegged as "737.28 kbit/s" ..?
  19. Switeck: So are the the Setup/Speed Guide presets going to need fixing again because of that? Currently I notice a discrepency anyway.. I use the preset for 1 mbit and Save & Close, and then I reopen the dialog and it has my current settings pegged as "737.28 kbit/s"
  20. Well it says that because their build system doesn't use the term "alpha", but if you look at the topic here you're posting under on the *Official* forum, it's an alpha. Not sure what could be the issue with the 2nd system. OS different somehow? Different torrents loaded?
  21. this is alpha software. switch to the beta if you've got a problem with 10 crashes per day. there will be few or no alpha builds while they focus on getting 2.0 final finished.
  22. K. not seeing gui.auto_restart in advanced. goes directly from diskio to gui.bypass
  23. I use the Free Avira AntiVir Personal and I have never had any complaints (except the notifier popup after update - but that can be fixed by changing permissions to the path of the notifier exe).
