  1. Hi, has webseeding feature changed in the last 30 days? Last month, webseeding a popular torrent used about 150GB bandwidth per day. But I noticed in my web logs that today and yesterday, the web server has pushed out about 500GB per day.
  2. Not seeing that issue. Works perfect for me.
  3. > Not related to any bittorrent client at all. This tracker is just down How would you know if the tracker is working or not? Web browser check has nothing to do with tracker availability. I still think its a client issue but no one wants to look at it!
  4. Can't connect to open.tracker.thepiratebay.org -- many users are confirming issues so it is not an ISP issue. Can dev and/or mods look at connection tracking issue with open.tracker.thepiratebay.org? thanks.
  5. Hey, I thank you for this fix. It must be the repeated dumps I sent on this? My RAID drive crashed (boy its hot here today!) and the network drive could not mount.
  6. > Can we have a tweak to the way uTorrent "finds" that network drives are disconnected on logon/startup. > Currently I have to go into explorer, open the shared drive, then I can press start in uTorrent. I think this is limitation of operating system again. Applications assume drive is working. It will let you know if doesn't work after it tries. > Allow custom seeding time maximums I think MINUTES is too granular. I rather see HOUR. Maybe even making it DAY would encourage longer seeding times (although upload speed could be severely capped on purpose).
  7. LOL, I'm glad I asked. Talk about sales-speak
  8. > - Feature: 2x faster hashing How'd you guys manage that? I've been using TeraCopy to copy files faster between drives. Did you guys employ some sort of caching read-ahead system for faster hashing?
  9. 1) Hi, does submit dump to developers (second radio box) work when uTorrent crashes and the prompt comes up? 2) If a webseed URL returns a 404 (not found), how many times or how often does the client try the webseed URL before it stops?
  10. Okay, µT seems to be showing sort arrow in XP, but not my Windows 2000 workstation. I tried renaming c:\program files\utorrent to utorrent.001. Then I installed latest 1.8 but the columns still do not show sort arrows inside the client.
  11. Really? I'm noticing on two different workstations. One is Windows 2000 and Windows XP. Is anyone else not seeing a sort arrow? I'm using build 11813 on both workstations.
  12. I noticed the sort arrow is gone from columns now. For example, if I sort on Clients on Peer tab, no arrow appears. I recall the arrow used to appear to indicate which way the list was sorting.
  13. Web seeding. In my Apache access_log, I'm seeing BTWebClient/1800 trying to GET a file but the path is off: xx.xxx.x.xxx - - [11/Aug/2008:00:09:16 -0400] "GET /event.HDTV.XviD/CD2\\event.cd2.r12 HTTP/1.1" 404 2354 www.domain.com "-" "BTWebClient/1800" "-" For some reason, only BTWebClient/1800 will try a GET with two backslashes before the file name. All the other clients are accessing with a 206 (partial get) which is what I expect. I've noticed this several builds now. I'm not seeing this issue if there is not a sub-folder within the main folder - e.g. GET /event.HDTV.XviD/event.cd2.avi
  14. Can you repeat the error for that .torrent file on a different computer or possibly a different hard drive?
  15. Thanks for the adjustments on Global Max Connection. I'm already seeing improved numbers on my torrents! The max connections for ADSL up to and including 768 kilobits still seem a little aggressive. Not a problem with my new Linksys WRT54GL with modded firmware but old Netgear router would die with numbers like that. My 2Wire 1800HG at home seems to be handling these suggested figures just fine.

    WebUI v0.315

I'm seeing an odd WebUI behavior. I'm seeding two torrents with the same name. One is public and one is private. One of the torrents selected (yellow highlight) keeps bouncing back and forth if I sort the Status in Ascending order (arrow pointing up). But the torrent list stays in its place if I sort by Descending order. I'm using WebUI v0.310. Can anyone else repeat this behavior?

    WebUI v0.315

Was there a "beta 1" and now there is a "beta 2"? I just wasn't clear if I needed to update my webui.zip to a newer version. Mine says v0.310 in the title.

Hi, any chance of putting the webui version number on the /gui page?

Test the port you are trying to connect on at work: http://www.utorrent.com/testport.php?port=27768 - The port you are trying to connect on is most likely blocked. Why leave a port open at work when there's no work related necessity?

    BEncode Editor

I hear Perl is good for editing binary files?

    BEncode Editor

FYI, there's an online Torrent Editor: http://www.torrenteditor.com/ Doesn't support web seed field, but it works pretty good if you need to tweak some basic things...

Sorry to ask for tech support but I can't run the EXE file on my Win2k system.
  23. I can download uTorrent.exe just fine too. Sounds like you have a system or software configuration issue. Try a different browser like Firefox. You can also try wget.exe.
  24. Would multi-file torrents be easier to support if the piece size matched the file sizes inside the torrent? For example, let's say I make a torrent (2MB piece size) of a 700MB video. The video file is RARed into 350 pieces of 2MB each. Would this, in effect, make each hash represent one file only?
