  1. cengizhan, You almost have to turn off the very optimistic TCP rate limiter in advanced as well as calculate overheads. Later builds are very likely to lessen this problem considerably. Also note that with *SOME* networking issues, you may be better off disabling uTP and/or Teredo/IPv6 connections.
  2. So did disabling uTP and Teredo/IPv6 help?
  3. Max122222, did you go through Ultima's Troubleshooting guide? (1st link in my signature)
  4. fowl, did you try disabling net.calc_overhead?

If you have a very high download speed relative to your upload speed (10:1 or more) *AND* very reliable network hardware and software, you can view the global and per-torrent max limits mentioned in uTorrent's Speed Guide CTRL+G menu as the upper limit for what might work ok for your line.

"Some documentation on how to migrate existing seeded torrents would be a good thing to have on this site." already exists: http://www.utorrent.com/documentation/migrate
  7. "I have a ADSL connection (6 Mbps down / 512 kbps up), I have to limit the upload to about 20 kB/s in order to download ok, is this normal." That is rather low considering your connection should be capable of uploading smoothly at over double that speed. Maybe uTorrent's other settings are causing overloads? 1st and 2nd links in my signature to fix that.
  8. Your upload max is probably 1/2000th of 512mbps. Find what it really is. v2.0 beta is out...try that.
  9. Yes, the previous one was simply NOT estimating how much bandwidth was really getting used. If you're downloading at 100 KB/sec, there's at least 3 KB/sec upload speed used up to continue downloading at that speed. If you're uploading at 100 KB/sec, there's at least 3 KB/sec download speed used up. Less optimal settings can increase the ~3 used per 100 to >10 used per 100!
  10. That's definitely more descriptive of your settings. Those advanced settings...may have odd effects for all I know, (not a uTorrent programmer, just a mod and only occasional beta-tester) as I don't recall using them in that combination. From what I can tell, with your settings...uTorrent would be incapable of reaching global max connections because it's so much higher than per torrent max connections. This may be intentional on your part, but likewise means uTorrent's "effective" max connections is barely any higher than max active torrents times max connections per torrent.
  11. Why YouTube "uTorrent Speedup" settings are BAD (examples): http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=62085
  12. uTorrent now has upload rate controls based off its uTP connections parameters.
  13. No, the old-style Automatic upload limiter won't be added back.
  14. There are no specific settings in my speed guide for 3Mb/256kb OR 12Mb/512kb. The limiter may be failing for a reason...and until we determine that, it probably won't get fixed.
  15. Virtual_ManPL, earlier you said: "I use Switeck settings for my 3Mb/256kb (in night I have 12Mb/512kb)" So presumably you were using the 256 kilobit/sec or 512 kilobit/sec upload speed settings? I would expect huge upload speed overruns if half open limit and/or bt.connect_speed was set high enough. DHT being enabled and/or "Disconnect: Can't sync DH3" can also create some unavoidable overheads as well.
  16. mossmanfly, if you try v1.8.4 again set bt.transp_disposition to 5 to disable uTP both in and out. If that seems to solve your problem, then it's probably the auto speed controls that are only enabled when uTP connections are present.
  17. Virtual_ManPL, can you edit your post...to restate your settings and with screenshot/s of the upload speed overrun? Maybe they'll get around to fixing it then...
  18. I'm still disappointed in uTorrent v2's speed guide "recommended" settings. Dial-up 28.8k and 56k still suggests 15 and 20 seed/peer connections max...WHY? 1.5 mbit/sec isn't any faster upload than 1 mbit/sec. There is a vast array of consumer networking hardware and software which cannot handle more than ~100 connections at once, which even 256kbit/sec upload settings can exceed. Everyone using so many connections at once would cause tragedy of the commons, driving down everyone's average speeds due to overhead increases...and needlessly putting additional loads on ISPs. And they're absolutely horrible for seeding, as I've explained here: http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=47523
  19. "Are only Windows 7 users seeing the crash with create torrent?" I did not get a crash when creating a torrent on Win 98SE.
  20. uTorrent 2.0 build 16394 crashes EVERY time I try to do Speed Guide CTRL+G. Also, I created a 0-length settings.dat file in the same folder as the uTorrent.exe and tried to launch it. It crashed on launching. It gets as far as "do you want to make uTorrent the default app for .torrent files Yes/No?"...and waits about 1 second after I hit yes/no to crash. Next time I launched, I didn't get that message window, but it still crashes a second or 2 after launching. I tried someone else's settings.dat ...which prevented uTorrent from crashing on start...he had DHT disabled. My old settings.dat which also has DHT disabled doesn't seem to cause a crash... I don't know if that's related though. Running Win 98SE, 512 MB ram, no software firewall or AV...behind a Linksys wrt54gl router, connected to ComCast Cable.
  21. mossmanfly, we *REALLY NEED* more info to solve that problem! Even if it's a bug in uTorrent...since it doesn't happen to everyone, your settings + torrent peers/seeds/trackers may be different enough to trigger a problem. So...Are you getting Teredo/IPv6 peers/seeds? uTP peers/seeds? Tracker errors? Speed/Type of your connection...down and up? Advanced settings you've changed in uTorrent? ...Lastly what regular settings you using as shown by CTRL+G?
  22. It's best to NOT set individual torrent upload or download speeds. Otherwise, if for some reason one is very slow...the other/s cannot take up the slack. If you reduce upload slots per torrent from 4 to 3, you can increase the max active+downloading torrents slightly.
  23. Antivirus software OFTEN includes a software firewall now...check that too.
  24. ugatme, your problem is likely hostile software on your computer...probably in the form of a software firewall that's misbehaving. Remove ALL uTorrent exceptions from your firewall and let it redetect uTorrent. If that doesn't help, reboot your computer, modem, and router. If that doesn't help, uninstall the software firewall/s besides the Windows Firewall.
  25. Even some of the ISPs that do throttle/disrupt BitTorrent may only do so in worst congested areas. The throttling could also be only during peak evening hours. Some/most of their service areas may be unaffected. "Minor" throttling might be very hard to detect too.
