Torrents stuck at "finding peers 0,0%" on Windows 10

Hello,

My torrents are stuck at finding peers but I can't find out what the issue is.

I've search through the forum here but I haven't found a sollution so far.

I use uTorrent on a Windows 10 computer.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled uTorrent a couple of times but that didn't help.

I've set the port for incoming connections on a random yet suitable number and that didn't help either.

On my Sitecom I've enabled NAT and UPnP.

When I look at tracker status I see statusses like 'connection timed out' (see the image I have uploaded with this message)

I hope somebody knows what to do and would like to help me out.

Looks like either a dead torrent or your internet security software is blocking.

I've tried another much more popular torrent and it still won't connect to anything.

I looked into my internet security software, Norton, and saw that uTorrent was indeed blocked. So I allowed it and now it's downloading the torrents.

Thank you so much for your help.

Probably it is a networking issue. Try with a VPN (free is ok) and let us know if it has been solved

My internet security software was blocking it. I unblocked uTorrent and now it works just fine. Luckally no issue with my network.

Thank you for your help. ;)

Hi dberkwood,

I'm facing exactly the same issue. Could you please describe step by step, How to configure Norton for enabling uTorrent?

Hi,

I'm Dutch and so is the language on my Norton software so I hope I translate it well enough. ;)

It's a fairly simply process though.

1. Get into the settings menu

2. Open your Firewall settings

3. Open the tab for Programm Management

4. Scroll down the list or search for uTorrent.

5. You'll see that the program is blocked. You can change that so your Norton will allow uTorrent to get data.

It should work now.

I hope your problem is solved as well.

Get Rid of Norton and install MSE for Win7 and older - Defender for Win8 and newer. I use MSE and have no such problems.

Hi dberkwood, thanks for the help.

I went to checked on my Norton360 Firewall setting and uTorrent start working perfectly for me.

1. Go Firewall setting
2. Go Program Control tab
3. Search uTorrent (Forget circle in red)
4. If any of the uTorrent logo shows block, just switch to allow.

5. Click Apply and it will start working perfectly.

Alot of work when MSE/Defender Microsoft works far better. I didn't have to configure mine and it works fine.
