Virus in download

Greetings,

uTorrent 3.4.5.41372 said there there was an update available, so I said to download it. Norton AntiVirus Online then detected a virus in the download. I've attached the entry from the log file.

Are the uTorrent servers infected? How do I fix this?

It's just the modules from the optional offers. You should be able to install safely.

However, norton has historically been more virus-like than most of the offers we've bundled.

Norton Antivirus automatically stripped the virus/module from version 3.4.5.41712. Would that have corrupted the download? I don't think it will be installed until next time I open uTorrent.

Since one keeps using bad software-Norton. Any help given is meaningless at this point in time.

I've added this folder to the list of Norton AntiVirus Online scan exclusions:

%appData%\uTorrent\

I'll wait to see what happens the next time it tries to update.

if Norton AntiVirus gives you a warning, yourupdate package may contain some malicious. wHY NOT download anohter version
