I can't see any text in utorrent windows when I try to change settings

I'm trying to setup uTorrent 1.6, and can only see part of the text in the windows that popup when I try to do this. I see text in some fields, but not in others where I'm sure it should be. For instance, where "Max number of connections allowed" is, it's blank next to the box where you input your desired answer. Can anyone help out?
