Switeck Posted November 13, 2006 Report Share Posted November 13, 2006 Overloads of some kind are almost always the cause, but like silverfire said -- we need a LOT more details before we can even narrow down the possible problem-cause.Ok, you say it runs out of ram. That's possible when overloading download and/or upload...or due to a very poor software firewall or antivirus/antispyware memory-resident software that insists on packet-scanning. Made sure your IDE/ATA/ATAPI controllers set to DMA mode in Start > Run > devmgmt.msc? Patched TCPIP.sys before, but haven't since last Windows Update? krazieaznboi Posted November 15, 2006 Author Report Share Posted November 15, 2006 hmmmmmm. odd. now that i have disabled UPnP in utorrent it doesnt lag wen i close the program but before it still lags after closing utorrent.EDIT: nevermind disabling UPnP didn't solve anything. also it uses aproximately 500mb of ram. Ultima Posted November 17, 2006 Report Share Posted November 17, 2006 No, a monitoring program could lag for larger files if it's actually scanning the entire file... but whatever, if it's not fixing the problem, then I guess it might not be the cause of the problem (though I don't see the need to have Nero constantly running the background either, so I think it's best if you leave it disabled anyway, and keep it from starting with Windows if it does).
