and another problem is that, you can let work utorrent for hours without downloading nothing

i heard many about utorrent but ...how to work?

I've got a similar problem so i might as well post it here. In the last few days my download speeds for torrents have fallen completely. Im not sure why. I had the problem in Azereus where torrents never started to download even though there were plenty of seeds and peers. This same problem persists with uTorrent. I can't quite figure it out because everything else seems to work per usual.

Hello. I am having this exact problem with my download speeds. My friend, on a dial-up internet service, get speeds of between 5-10kb/s. I however, on a dial up connection, only get around 1-2 kb/s. Are there any settings I can configure to make my downloads a little faster????

They sometimes go up to around 5 kb/s, but they suddenly drop back down again to the 0.1-2 area and sometimes even stop completely for long periods of time.

Please help me...

i you need help then i would strongly sugest you read this post 1st ..

its no good saying you have a problem if your the only person that knows what your problem is we not mind readers, we can not see what is on your screen or what settings you have modified (if any) we will help you out as much as possible but only if you state what your actual problem is .. so read the above post 1st and then take it from there.

OK I have read all that, now here's my equation.

Network OK is down the bottom of my utorrent window.

All I have changed is that I use port 6881.

I use Windows XP.

I don't have broadband, so I don';t even know what portforwarding is...

I don't use a firewall at the moment.

I don't now my bandwidth at the moment, but I have had d/l speeds at around 5 kb/s before. That speed tester doesn't download.

The ISP is not known to slow down my downloads.

If anyone can help, that would be great.

try a port between 50000 - 55000 those usually aren't known ports for file sharing and aren't throttled.

Also anything over 6kBs s pretty much impossible on a dial up conenction, but you definetly should be getting 5 - 6 kBs if you aren't surfing or anything else.

any reason why you're not at least using the XP firewall? cuz that's crazy..

You don't need a firewall really. I've not had one for years

It's not likely he'd get throttled on 56k.

Scarface, how many seeders/peers are you connected to?

Also, you can't really get past 6.5KB/s on 56k, even less because of TCP/IP overhead. :)
