Switeck Posted June 7, 2007 Report Posted June 7, 2007 Your ISP is hostile to file-sharing and especially so to BitTorrent traffic, so little wonder µTorrent isn't very fast.
the grunty Posted June 7, 2007 Author Report Posted June 7, 2007 not true i use ares and filetopia for fileshareing so my isp is fine i get over 195 kbs on ares and 75 kbs on filetopia so my isp is not the answer
DreadWingKnight Posted June 7, 2007 Report Posted June 7, 2007 We have had over a dozen people come in from your isp in the past week and complain about BT speeds. It's your ISP.
the grunty Posted June 7, 2007 Author Report Posted June 7, 2007 so i cant use utoorent ? ok thanks for the help and sorry to bother u
Firon Posted June 7, 2007 Report Posted June 7, 2007 You can't use any BitTorrent client, PERIOD.Get a new ISP.
the grunty Posted June 7, 2007 Author Report Posted June 7, 2007 a new isp im on tiscali at the moment ?why can i use ares and filetopia ? r they not bit torrents if not can u recommend a broadband provider that is good for bit torrents .thanks
Firon Posted June 7, 2007 Report Posted June 7, 2007 Ares and Filetopia are separate protocols. Your ISP only blocks the BitTorrent protocol.I don't know of any alternatives.
Switeck Posted June 7, 2007 Report Posted June 7, 2007 You could try a VPN or proxy server that encrypts traffic, but those typically aren't free or fast. But for testing, you may not mind using a free one with a max speed of about 5-7 KiloBYTES/sec down and up.
the grunty Posted June 8, 2007 Author Report Posted June 8, 2007 im lost now dont know what to do as i want to use utorrent ive heard a lot of good things about it .so in a nutshell tiscali (mybroadband provider)is no good to use with utorent or any bit torrent?which broadband provider is the best 1 to use ?
Switeck Posted June 8, 2007 Report Posted June 8, 2007 I'm not sure where you are to even give suggestions. But British Telecom (UK) and Rogers Cable (Canada) is others to avoid.
dus10 Posted June 9, 2007 Report Posted June 9, 2007 would verizon be one to avoid.... that is who i am with?
