elron
yes, that's right, and if it doesn't work, is there any programm/Client to make this changes (Port mapping) manually? (not via the normal interface of the router)
Blackice
if your router supports UPnP, you can do it from Windows.Network Connections > Internet Connection (under Internet Gateway) > Properties > Settings > add and take away ports till your heart's content!NOTE: This is how it is on XP, maybe not under 2K/NT. Also, the Internet Connection item isn't always there. It randomly goes.Alternatively, install the "UPnP User Interface" component from "Networking Services" under add/remove components. It'll show up in Network Neighbourhood, and you can add ports.
elron
Nope,on W2k, it's not included!
Vectorferret
Microsoft didn't include UPnP until Windows XP. And of course, the Windows XP is the standard Microsoft's version of the standard, rather than the normal kind, so it works with very few routers; and doesn't work consistantly with the one's it does work with.
