b0ne
Does anyone know of any circumstances or settings that might affect the raw throughput to individual peers? My box in Dallas seems to be able to hit 500-700kb/sec to peers in .se in a good portions of clients, but I only see 70k-180k/sec to those same peers in utorrent? b0ne
For example, Azureus by default has a small so_sndbuf setting by default, which needs to be increased for it to send at high speeds in high latency environments.
vixenfinder
well i've notices that turning off the dht feat of µTorrent gave me dramatic results try that, and aslo i noticed that it dosen't display as many peers/seeds as azureus i wonder why? b0ne
DHT being enabled or disabled has nothing to do with socket per peer sending speeds to peers that came from a tracker.
Firon
if you get any speed improvements, it means your router/modem is a piece of crap and doesn't work well with UDP packets.
1c3d0g
Yeah...consistently sending massive amounts of UDP packets usually fucks up your modem pretty badly if it's a crappy one...
b0ne
This is a dedicated server located at a datacenter, it is not behind some "crappy router/modem."
DutchDude
Perhaps this is related to PeX (Peer-Exchange) which is currently not supported by uTorrent.....
Firon
Wait for 1.4 ludde's got it to transfer at 8MB/s over a single thread in a LAN, so perhaps you'll get better speeds with 1.
