Fingez
I was wondering why the file I'm downloading is 6.03Gig and it's saying i've downloaded 6.35gig and i'm only 84.5% through? If i'm not mistaken i've downloaded about 105%? What is happening? Cheers

jewelisheaven
Sorry it's not a direct link, but looking at the General pane, you might have noticed "Wasted" which is covered http://utorrent.com/faq.php#What_does_Wasted_and_hashfails_mean.3F

jewelisheaven
as the FAQ says...HOW much of the total torrent is 1.33 GB ?What is piece size? and total number of hashfails? You may want to read further down in the FAQ about ipfilter.dat if hashfails are slowing your download. Fingez
1545 by 4MB pieces. 363 hash fails which is 1.45GB. Seems a lot yeah? okay, so i'm reading up about this ipfilter stuff but this is really getting frustrating. i'm getting more hash check fails as i go! it's getting silly. How do i know who to ban? everytime the logger says that it's failed it puts a 'banned' after it? is that ip not already banned? HELP! anyone please? Firon
That must definitely be a poisoned torrent.
jewelisheaven
To find out who is sending bad data, to keep them from connecting to you in the future you want the "hasherr" column in the peer tab.And yea, with 4 MB pieces, its definitely a waste to let those bad data senders keep connecting to you. Fingez
students.lennon.downing.ask4.co.uk:9946if this is their IP address, then what do i write down to ban them in the ipfilter?thanks for all the help!
Firon
Sorry, but that's not a good idea. The old system for determining hash errors is not a good way to find who to ban and who not to.
Fingez
Yeah, thats fine to say don't do it, but you still didn't tell me how to find the IP address from that infostudents.lennon.downing.ask4.co.uk:9946is that an IP address? Switeck
Fingez needs to turn off Resolve IPs to see the "bare" ip number.Right-click on top of the place where you see that name-number to disable it.Banning that ip address almost certainly won't eliminate your hash fails. If the torrent's fake, the only thing you can do is stop it and delete it! jewelisheaven
Errm, I just realized, If there were so many hashfails and those clients are banned, how was he still getting connections? What version of uT are you using?
