subba Posted January 15, 2008 Report Share Posted January 15, 2008 I want to download to a USB external drive, Maxtor one touch 4 500 GB, but when I plug it in Utorrent slows down and stays on disk overload 100% forever. ajones81 Posted January 15, 2008 Report Share Posted January 15, 2008 Hmm... Might be due to the speeds then. Can you try 1.8 (thread is in Announcements section) and see? Turn the Windows Disk Cache off in the options, and if you still have problems, feel free to post in the 1.8 thread that the devs are actively monitoring.P.S. I suggest you run 1.8 encapsulated (http://www.utorrent.com/faq.php#How_can_I_share_my_torrents_between_user_profiles.3F will tell you how). Kindly note that it's an alpha and so better not to use it as your main client (that's why I said run it encapsulated and not to overwrite 1.7.5).
