samirissa Posted March 11, 2008 Report Share Posted March 11, 2008 After installing uTorrent, almost all my laptop programs stopped working, all the program executables that stopped launching properly started using uTorrent as the default program to open them. I deleted the executable and folder of uTorrent and after that, instead of launching uTorrent as the default opening program, I started getting prompted to select a program to open the executables.Even certain Windows functions are behaving the same way, only Microsoft Office is behaving normally.Any suggestions? jewelisheaven Posted March 11, 2008 Report Share Posted March 11, 2008 Before you do that though you should find out what happened to frakk up your windows so bad. Did you install anything recently? Or go to any non-mainstream websites with an unsecured browser (IE)? What about run/open downloaded files? Were you running any anti virus or security software? :/ Running HiJackThis may tell you WHAT it was installed which could have precipitated these problems, but if you don't find out what caused this it's likely to happen again.
