neotenno
I have own private network which includes with 2 PC's. The IP numbers are PC1=192.168.0.100 & PC2=92.168.0.101. I was installed the utorrent and WebUI into PC1 and i was tested the WebUI from the PC2.And, the result is work well by using this path "http://192.168.0.100:68100/gui"68100 is a port for utorrent.I was check myISP number from the "www.IP-address.com" which is "202.148.173.131".So, my question is How to acces this WebUI from outside "from my office" which is through my ADSL modem and router? Can someone to teach me how to setup in details?
jewelisheaven
You would access the webui the same way others connect to you. Be sure your port is forwarded. If ti is you can test yourself from your own computer by going http://my.external.ip.here:port/gui/
neotenno
I:m sure the port forwarding was correctly setup. And,still not working with your path.for yr info, i can connect to my modem by this path "http+//my.external.ip.add/"But, when i tried with this path "http://my.external.ip.add:68100/gui", it's faild. That meas, I cannot access to my router and pc.Any idea for this case? Need someone expert in routing to advise me.
jewelisheaven
As far as I know 68100 isn't a real port number actually ><Try something lower than 65534.
GTHK
65535 is the highest port number :/.
jewelisheaven
65535 is a reserved port number in uT. I'll be happy to include that in the valid range as soon as I see it (I have seen ports 2-65500 for connected clients for the record).
GTHK
I didn't say it was valid in µT, just the last valid value in general . While on the topic though, why did you exclude 65534? Is that invalid in µT as well?
jewelisheaven
I did? I said 65534 is the highest number. I didn't say "up to 65534 is valid". TBQH there's more important things to test besides if uT will work on port(s) 1 and 65535 IMO, but I will gladly reply "Ports 1 - 65535 work when setup with uT" when asked after I see it.Have you tried connecting with a value lower than the current port #? Also have you entered any of the extra options in the Ctrl-P -> Advanced -> WebUI pane ? The "restrict IPs" or "alternate listen port" would affect webUI connectivity outside your LAN. hermanm
I wouldn't be surprised if your office is blocking unauthorized ports. If you have a legitimate use for uTorrent in the office, it shouldn't be a problem for the system administrator to open that port for you. (Assuming you are using a port 65500 or under I guess, I don't really know)
GTHK
Try something lower than 65534.In other words, less then 65534 .Also, I tried 65535 for the hell of it in the latest beta. It works, but there were two quirks, one, DHT failed to initialize using only router.utorrent.com for bootstrapping, standard nodes seem to function fine. I couldn't test a second time because other nodes started contacting me, and I remember reading that absurdly large IP filter ranges fail to filter. Two, µTorrent 1.7.7 connections seemed to be outgoing only on several torrents. Using a new port and waiting a while did yield a few incoming 1.7.7's. The testing period was somewhat short IMO so I can't say for sure. So, it seems µT 1.8 B9137 accepts it.
neotenno
Thank you for reply. I was change my port from 68100 to 50000. And, I was found that my network routing as shown below:MY PC (192.168.0.100, port=50000) -> Router -> 192.168.0.1 -> ADSL Modem Bridge & Router -> External IP (202.148.173.131)Any idea to setup about this network routing? jewelisheaven
So after reconfiguring the port in your router... how is your ADSL modem configured?? If it has NAT aka router functionality too it should be turned to bridge mode to accommodate your router. If not the request @ http://202.148.173.131:50000/gui/ gets lost between you requesting it from the internet and the response from the internet @ your modem.
