DreadWingKnight Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 Someone missed this step when setting up their server.IE sucks sometimes too.http://utorrent.com/faq.php#.C2.B5Torrent_won.27t_open_torrent_files_even_though_I_associated_torrents_with_it
WMPsucks Posted June 18, 2008 Author Report Posted June 18, 2008 This isnt helping, none of the topics are relevant. I have really enjoyed using Utorrent but now it seems that I will never be able to use it again. For God sakes someone please help me.
DreadWingKnight Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 right-click and copy the url from the page, then use "add torrent from url" in uT.
DreadWingKnight Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 Also, does the problem persist with OpenOffice torrents?
WMPsucks Posted June 18, 2008 Author Report Posted June 18, 2008 I tried your solution but it says invalid torrent file every timeSomeone is going to get a free guitar out of this if they can just help me get this thing to work again..
DreadWingKnight Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 Does the problem persist with OpenOffice torrents?
WMPsucks Posted June 18, 2008 Author Report Posted June 18, 2008 Okay I'm not familiar with OpenOffice, what do I have to do , download it like I did Utorrent??
DreadWingKnight Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 click my post above where it says openoffice torrentsChoose 2.4.1 -> windows -> english.Does it try to open in uT?
WMPsucks Posted June 18, 2008 Author Report Posted June 18, 2008 My computer wont download OpenOffice for some reason, any other ideas??
WMPsucks Posted June 18, 2008 Author Report Posted June 18, 2008 It goes right into Windows media player, how do I disable WMP ?
DreadWingKnight Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 Torrents going straight into WMP means you did NOT follow the uT won't open torrents even though I associated torrents with it steps.
DreadWingKnight Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 Check your windows associations and the associations settings in the browser like the section I specifically linked to says to.

Switeck Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 Doesn't Media Player also have something inside of it where you set file associations to it?
