DreadWingKnight
ESET security/NOD32?
Firon
HTTP error 400 is a problem with NOD32 2.7. You must disable IMON, add utorrent to the IMON exceptions, or upgrade to NOD32 v3 (as it's a bug in IMON).
adi3093
I get the same problem upgraded to 1.8 from 1.7.7 and now utorrent does not work a tall and all the settings are the same, have reinstall 1.7.7 and that does not work either and help would be appreciated. thelittlefire
Remove and remake all rules you added for your old uTorrent.exe. Mentioning and/or searching your firewall/security/AV software would be a good start.
Firon
If your problem is HTTP 400, you have to do the same thing I said.
adi3093
i'm using netgear dg834gt, all ports are forwarded and recieving incomming connections, i'm using avg anti virus software and updated all rules, utorrent also responds with not responding when loading a torrent as well, this is so annoying. PeterTheEater
"http error 400" means that the page is not found, this means either that you have a bad link to the file (I sincerely doubt that this is the case), or a firewall, or some other software that acts as a firewall (antivirus and such) is blocking your connection.Check if uTorrent is added to the firewall exception lists, and that your antivirus program is not blocking your connection. Also try disabling the firewall, and anti-vir, just to narrow-down the possible culprit, but remember to put 'em back up after you're finished checking! DreadWingKnight
"http error 400" means that the page is not foundThis is WRONG.404 is not found. 400 is bad request.http://www.w3.org/Protocols/rfc2616/rfc2616-sec10.html
adi3093
turn off firewall and anti virus software still not connecting. I am resetting my router and will try that. at the moment port forwarding is working but just does not connect to any trackers.

Firon
HTTP 400 has a particular cause though (NOD32 2.7).

Firon
Upgrade to NOD32 v3? Or switch to AVG.
duja
ok but that is not answer that i was looking for, if NOD is not running why is it matter which version i have ?
Ultima
Because it'll continue to keep its systemwide hooks in place even if its UI/service executables aren't running.Edit: At least try uninstalling it to see if the problem persists. duja
yeah, that's the first thing i did after your post and you were right. everything works smooth now. i mean if i can't use IMON pretty much there is no point using anti virus at all. (i was using the old version cause my computer is not fast enough for new one)anyway i appreciate your help, thanks ; )
Firon
Well, AVG Free is a good choice if you want an antivirus. Still, it's kind of odd that you can't disable IMON. It seems to work in 2.7, but I guess 2.5 is different.
duja
i did disable it but it didn't change anything, i still had http bad request, but when i uninstalled it then it worked. i just downloaded nod32 v3 and it works just fine with utorrent 1.8 stable. thanks again. Firon
One thing to note is that you should ensure that utorrent is unchecked in v3's browser list (HTTP preferences). Doesn't harm too much, but occasionally nod32 chokes and slows down browsing when it treats ut as a browser.
duja
Did you mean on this type of settings ?
Firon
Yep, that's the one. But it seems like it's already unchecked.
