Hello Everyone.

Sorry if it is not the place to post this question but i don't know where to post it. It's not a bug or a feature request so ...

On my server, uTorrent tries to connect to others IP of my local subnet, even IPs that are not used. Is anybody knows why ? Is it possible to disable this ?

Thank You.

I am in a Private C Class Subnet.

My server is at 192.168.1.120 (for example), i see some connections tries at 192.168.1.20 which is unused, like 192.168.1.35 too ...

Sometimes it's 35, another time 100 ... 101 like a random.

I'm using wine to use utorrent.

On linux if i make a netstat -tcp i can view this.

netstat -tcp

tcp 0 1 192.168.1.120:42838 192.168.1.35:28116 SYN_SENT 4249/uTorrent.exe

tcp 0 1 192.168.1.120:42838 192.168.1.35:28116 SYN_SENT 4249/uTorrent.exe

tcp 0 1 192.168.1.120:42838 192.168.1.35:28116 SYN_SENT 4249/uTorrent.exe

They are outgoing connections tries to unknown IPs.

Try copying your torrent's peer list to text files to see if you can spot the offender/s.

Is your networking double-NATed (multiple routers in series) or made up of a larger shared ISP network that likely has neighboring nodes with similar ips?

These IPs aren't in my peer list.

My Network is not double-NETed, i have only a Modem and a Linksys router.

My ISP give me a fixed public IP and this IP isn't in the same subnet as my local network (82.XXX.XXX.XXX)

uTorrent is the only torrent client that make theses connections tries in my system. If i use Transmission (for example) i don't see these connection tries.

Are you seeing messages in uTorrent's LOGGER window concerning what/why/how it's making those connections?

Might give us a clue what's going on...

My guess is they're "ghost" ips from uTorrent making loopbacks.
