Switeck Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 It may be your ISP is throttling BitTorrent, especially to others NOT on the same ISP as you.Or your uTorrent settings can be overloading your networking somehow.Your speed measurement probably is showing burst speeds, not sustainable speeds...I really doubt you have more than 2 megabit/sec usable upload speed.
paintball9 Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 You need to run the speedtest when nothing else is using the internet (no downloads, no uploads and no browsing)And don't forget private trackers are chronically over-seeded. You're lucky to get any upload time on most without tons of torrents running. (the guys you see with TB of upload cred, usually have thousands running)
stlnation Posted August 5, 2010 Author Report Posted August 5, 2010 ive been using the same private tracker for 3years. my mac had no problem uloading at 250kB continually for days.heres my tracker stats
Switeck Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 i got 60meg down 3 upThat download speed is *IMPOSSIBLE* on cable ISPs unless you're using DOCSIS v3.0 or later.
stlnation Posted August 6, 2010 Author Report Posted August 6, 2010 lol 60 i meant to type 20.sorry for the confusion
paintball9 Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 Well your speed test still conflicts with that even at 20. Do the test again and make sure you're not running any internet applications besides the browser window opening the test. And if it still comes up short you may want to have a chat with your ISP.
Switeck Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 lol 60 i meant to type 20.sorry for the confusionNo problem...though as paintball9 stated, try doing a speed test with everything else stopped.I'm worried that you're not getting even 1 mbit/sec of sustainable upload bandwidth due to ISP problems. ...if your uTorrent speed graph is anything to go by.
stlnation Posted August 6, 2010 Author Report Posted August 6, 2010 Fixe the problem you guys probably wont like the fix but i switched to VUZE. uploading @ 460kB/s and lovin it
Switeck Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 That's a workaround rather than a fix, but if it helps you...do it.
paintball9 Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 Not sure if its related but I just noticed a fragment of Norton in your HJT log as well as Avast (probably your normal AV)Avast isn't as big of a deal but you should probably make sure there are proper rules for utorrent in it. As for norton E:\PROGRA~1\Symantec\SYMANT~1\NSCTOP.EXEyou should probably make sure to get rid of that.
rafi Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 I would also upgrade to the latest release - 2.03 . It uploads better...
Switeck Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 What DWK says may be a problem (in the future at least!) no matter what you use....my bad, paintball9 said!
paintball9 Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 What DWK says may be a problem (in the future at least!) no matter what you use.Wrong topic Switeck? DreadWingKnight hasn't even posted here.
