djrapid77
Exactly the topic. Just started BitTorrent and it asked if I wanted to update to newer version. It downloaded and installed. I hate the new look. How do I go back to the previous version or is there away to change the icons on the toolbar back with a new skin or something? DreadWingKnight
The toolbar icons are skinnable, you should be able to follow a similar skinning procedure to uTorrent to get the skin to apply.
Firon
Just skin it to look the way you want.
Garry McCoy
After updating the program, lost my old theme - write in more detail how to install themes on this new version ! Because if you install as before, neither of which does not work !
djrapid77
OK. I tried to skin. I followed the skin instructions but they are for uTorrent. I think it must be different for bitTorrent. I am useless at this sort of stuff so i might just be doing it wrong.
Garry McCoy
Due to the fact that the skin is not changed I had to go back to version 7.0 (21591)P.S.Try it for yourself to change the skins in new version 7.1 - and write as it is done correctly ! synapse
Regarding v7.1...I don't understand what's so complicated about telling clients there will be changes to their GUI BEFORE installing software. The new toolbars and interface look like they were designed by Fisher-Price. Seriously, it looks like complete crap. So much for your customized toolbar - it doesn't seem won't work on this release.Based on what I've seen, they have removed 2 icons on the toolbar - making any previous skins you may have useless. According to the new help file, the skinning instructions are the same as previous releases, so they obviously didn't do a good job documenting this release. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but taking the time to port the older HTML help system in a Windows-based help file is POINTLESS if the information in the help file is incorrect. You'll also find all your column widths have been lost, presumably because they tossed some of the available columns. No mention of that anywhere either.Hopefully, re-skinning will simply be a matter of removing the "Search" and "RSS" icons on adjusting the width of the toolbar accordingly. I haven't tried this yet but hopefully someone will soon. Maybe when I have more patience I'll try and post the results.Needless to say, I'm not very impressed. djrapid77
Unfortunately there are other people who are in the same situation. I am glad however to hear I am not the only one who doesn't like it and who is having trouble changing. Where did you get 7.0 version? Not that I have really looked around. Synapse, I think you hit the nail on the head. I just didn't want to be straight forward like that.
Firon
If you don't like the icons, try this skin. http://download.utorrent.com/utorrent.2.0.4.btskin
down'n'dirty
I have yet to see any info on how to back out the newest update. All I see is stuff about re-skinning. I agree that the new look sucks but what is worse is that UDP Tracker Enabled got set without my knowledge. I do not trust this new release and want to go back to the prior one. DreadWingKnight
Downgrading is not supported.Versions other than the current release, current beta and current alpha are not supported.
down'n'dirty
As mentioned in my previous post, Enable UDP tracker support was checked after upgrading. Unchecked it but the UDP trackers still connect. How can I prevent the use of UDP trackers other than manually removing them (which I have already done?) DreadWingKnight
So the udp trackers show in the list with a state other than "disabled" when you've disabled udp tracker support?
down'n'dirty
Yes. I unchecked the UDP Tracker support, stopped/started Bittorrent, yet the UDP trackers still showed 'working'. That's when I manually removed them.p.s. I found a copy of BT 7.0 (build 21591) on my machine and have gone back to it.
Firon
When you disable UDP trackers, it actually just pretends they're HTTP and tries to connects to it that way. Simple and safe way to disable UDP trackers. Why do you want to disable them?
GTHK
That's retarded and pretty worthless. Not hammering trackers by using UDP and HTTP at the same time was SUPPOSED to be implemented what, over a year ago and BEFORE that particular version went stable? Well done.
