hibbs
I have in the past created 4 torrents. Recently I had to reload my win xp sp3 os. With utorrent 1.8.4 if I dowloaded the torent file and pointed to where the original files were they would be checked and shared. I am now running utorrent 3.2 and when I follow the same procedure it wants to download them again. How do I seed the original files I have? kotekzot
stop -> force re-check. check that the path is right, it may have appended the torrent name to the path for no reason.
hibbs
The force re-check results in no error and does not start sharing, it remains in the stopped condition. If started its still wants to down load.
DreadWingKnight
Then your aim was off with the set download location function.
jsillup
@hibbs, if I remember correctly, in older versions of uTorrent such as you mention you could select the actual torrent name, whether that was a single file or a folder containing multiple files, as download location. Current versions work differently in that respect; you have to select the parent folder of your torrent. For example, to set download location for "mytorrent" which is in folder "torrents" (\torrents\mytorrent) set "torrents" as the location and be sure to answer No when asked if you want to overwrite. hibbs
Thanks, a new folder was being opened within the original, a subtlety I had not noticed!
