bkong Posted May 8, 2013 Report Share Posted May 8, 2013 Out of nowhere utorrent 3.2.3 stopped working. I uninstalled and deleted appdata files, and tried reinstalling it. But the setup .exe for 3.2.3 doesn't install. After the page where it tells you to install toolbars, it stops responding too. I tried installing the latest 3.3 version, but the setup did the same thing, and couldn't install. I successfully installed 2.2.1 but it still stops responding, I also don't want to be using such an old version. What can I do? I have avast and malwarebytes only, and these never had any problems with utorrent. Any ideas?edit: got 3.2.3 to install, but it still stops responding/freezes right after I open it. bkong Posted May 9, 2013 Author Report Share Posted May 9, 2013 I don't think so, its a program for my touchpad that I've had installed for years. I just restarted utorrent without it and the same thing happens. I don't know if this is helpful or not but once I restart utorrent, it shows my torrents checking, then it freezes. It would unfreeze once in a while but as soon as I click in the program, it freezes again. The strange thing is that the torrents seem to be downloading, albeit slowly. Anything else I can do besides reinstalling? i just ran revo uninstaller and cleaned the registry before reinstalling utorrent but it doesn't help. I redeleted the %appdata% folder too. bkong Posted May 9, 2013 Author Report Share Posted May 9, 2013 I tested builds 3.3, 3.2.3, 2.2.1, and 2.04. Only builds 2.2.1 and 2.04 actually worked. I am trying to install 3.3.1 beta right now, but sometimes the even the installers freeze.(actually the installers give the same error message, "utorrent is running but not responding")Just opened 3.3.1 beta, and it immediately froze Same with the alpha.
