Pause v. Stop

Can a knowledgable person elaborate on the technical differences, if any, between pausing and stopping a torrent?

Pause is good for when you'd like a torrent to resume quickly but only need to 'stop' it for about 5-10 minutes at most. Any other situation, stop is better.

Honestly, pause is a bit unnecessary in terms of functionality.

And we don't appreciate that you opened it in the first place.

What are you afraid of, someone will have the nerve to agree with me? Whoever you are, you are a coward. Are you gonna lock this one, too?

We aren't afraid of anything other than having to waste our own time on attempting to beat stupidity out of users.

Pause attempts to hold the peer connections open where stop closes them.

If you're going to be pausing for 5 minutes or more, you get identical effect as stopping.
