Ultima
The patch makes minor difference in terms of attainable speed unless your internet connection starts getting interrupted occasionally. My user manual has information on importing files.

kaoru
Windows 2003 R2 does need this patch?
Ultima
Probably not. The default limit for Windows 2003 is 50, IIRC, which is more than enough.
Hyosung
Just curious as I never really bothered with this in terms of caring of the value but what is a general good 'setting' for the patch? I mean I use nLite instead of the one discussed here and I just have it set at max which is a HUGE number (16777215) hehe and again I never really paid attention as to what the 'right/average' number should be.. and in uTorrent I have the net.max_halfopen set to 300... I don't know if this is right or not so I thought I'd ask...(And if windows releases updates it is best for me to just repatch it right?
Ultima
There's no point in setting the limits so high ;\
Hyosung
Hehe I know as I said, I didn't really pay any attention cept the max settable... Would you happen to have any suggestions? And if so, what would I set the halfopen in utorrent along with that? Thanks.
Ultima
Depends on what kind of connection you have, but for most people, a TCPIP.sys limit of anywhere between 20 and 50 is sufficient. As for net.max_halfopen... I'd just leave it at default, but if you really feel the need to increase it, only increase up to 80% of the TCPIP.sys limit. Hyosung
Thank you I guess I shall change mine to 50, and so then for the net.max_halfopen of 50 would be 40 correct? Again thanks.
Ultima
Yes, that is correct.

Ultima
Be sure you restarted your computer after patching TCPIP.sys. And you're welcome
lsd
[Tad3j] Do you have static IP ? If not try disconnecting and reconecting to your ISP (btw tcp flags != tcp incomming connections)
hanssen
lvllords patch also works with the x64 version of xp too.No it does not. Please be sure to test before you make such a statement.I have yet to find a working patch for Windows XP Pro x64 Edition, SP2.The Event-ID 4226 error will stay alive and kicking, even hex-editing doesn't do the job.
