Execute external command when a torrent finishes downloading (2)

I posted in general and I guess this aint possible so how about a feature request?

Please can we have some kind of variables so that we can use WinRAR etc to extract volumes that have been downloaded?

i.e. You could do "unrar.exe -e %TORRENT_DATA_DIR%"

I asked for variables to be used.

I.e. I KNOW you can run external programs, I wanted to know if it would be possible for µTorrent to pass variables onto these external programs.

So basically you could set it so that any downloaded files are automatically processed.

If I am overlooking something I apologise.

If this is possible I would be keen to learn how.

%N = name of torrent

%D = directory

%F = filename if a single file torrent

There should be a little list of these variables on the actual advanced page then so people know about them. Or a help button that brings up a little window with these variables in it.

probably in the FAQ section is better (Firon can take care of that )

I suggested for ludde to add them to the advanced page, since there's a lot of whitespace anyway.

@dAbReAkA: nah there is no reason to force a person to come to the website to find this stuff out, when it can easily and convieniently be added to the appropriate place in the program.

ICleolion: Don't know if I agree there, I mean when you're talking about the advanced section, not all of the options are immediately obvious anyway. If you're trying to do anything obvious, you'll end up coming here eventually.

@Splintax: oh my bad i thought Firon mean't the advanced tab in the add new torrent dialog where you find the Run Program option. Not the advanced settings page.
