  1. Which is NOT the latest version and build.
  2. Taskbar/System Tray icons going "missing" in Windows XP is a long standing problem that will NEVER be fixed http://winhlp.com/node/16 http://forums.cnet.com/7723-6142_102-220055/icons-disappeared-from-system-tray/ Deleting ShellIconCache.db from %Userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\ in a command prompt and rebooting usually "fixes" it .
  3. BitTorrent clients connect to themselves on a regular basis, you may not need the data retrieved but uTorrent does.
  4. Nothing particularly unusual there.
  5. I have said a couple of time that I don't see what the frenetic pace of 'development' is about, but it is certtainly not about quality control. uTorrent is the only software (from people I don't know personally) that I do any alpha or beta testing on these days. Don't have the space for rack mount 'lab rat' machines, or the inclination to have multiple VMs set up.
  6. Wow! You guys really need to get youir sh*t together...Releasing and immediately pulling your fixes is becoming the norm lately. No matter how much resilience testing is done with debug builds, developers cannot cover every possible environment, and 'bug fixes' often have 'unfortunate' effects that cannot be anticipated. Take Windows 'Me' and Vista as examples, many fundamental 'issues' in both of those were not found until people had PAID to be 'mass RC' testers (although Microsoft prefer to call them customers). And it might be wise to leave the disaster called "Windows 8" out of the discussion.
  7. No need to guess http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?pid=694218#p694218
  8. Read the User Manual on "encapsulated installation"
  9. http://user.utorrent.com/utorrent-free
  10. Yes, it is a 1 year, 1 machine licence fee,
  11. Man, when did last look at the price
  12. As has been mentioned in several threads .... Reduce your cache size for a start.
  13. Deluge is open source and has a very similar list of problems as uTorrent does especially with the "connecting to peers" issues.
  14. So you chose to narrow the parameters rather than accept the spirit of the forum rules, ok then. However if you read right to the end of the item
  15. Oh! And ... READ THE LAST LINE of the Forum Rules
  16. Then I guess if you are too lazy to help yourself, we can't be bothered either!!
  17. ... and I hope it's only false positive Did you read any of the other 20 or so posts/threads that already discuss this non-issue?
  18. WOW! Could we get these two posts pinned and made essential reading before posting? :)
  19. So trust for uTorrent is pretty much dead then.
  20. As I've said before it is one of those "Nobody will be dumb enough to do that" assumptions.
  21. Not with a magnet link. The metadata is downloaded from peers and a .torrent file is created on the fly.
  22. Maybe, but until the Ok button on the Add Torrent dialogue is 'clicked' the job is NOT loaded and is NOT commited to resume.dat, and as such, the application has no record of the .torrent file that has been created from the magnet data.
  23. Perfectly normal behaviour there, if the .torrent file has not been loaded, the client does not 'know' it actually exists. Because cancelling the job before the loading process takes place means it has not been added to resume.dat
  24. As I have noted before, development moves at the pace and requirements of the owners NOT the users. BitTorrent are a commercial enterprise and as such both clients are commodities that are there to increase the revenue for the company. You as the end user count for very little, and as it is with so many of the larger software houses, are simply mass beta and release testers.
