bobholm
What does the "Avail." column on the uTorrent screen mean? I currently have 1.0000 in that column, but it went as high as 3.98xx while I was seeding the file I downloaded.
dajojo88
It is the availability of the files in a torrent. It is the number of complete copies that you are currently connected to.
1c3d0g
I think it means that there is 1 copy of that torrent available. When it was 3.98xx, it's my understanding that there were almost 4 copies available at that particular time to distribute (3 people had 100%, the other had maybe ~98%). Someone correct me if I'm wrong... :oops:Edit: dajojo88 beat me to it...again!
bobholm
Thanks dajojo88 and 1c3d0g... Makes sense. I do wish there were a real help file with uTorrent -- would make a lot of silly (to the experienced) questions unnecessary in here.
Fuzzlet
Almost... it's how many copies of the file are available from downloaders. It does not take into account the seeders.
Huck
I'd say: it means how many copies are available from you + those who connected to you at the moment.
Firon
Yes it does take seeders into account. It's a combination the seeders connected + how many complete files can be made from what the peers connected to you have AND what you have. chaosblade
Those are common BitTorrent terms. You can look them up about anywhere, The official specs, Lots of FAQ's, etc. Google's your pal

Keloran
not sure a wiki is best, but a help (help->help) file would increase the size of uT alot (depending on how big the help file was)
Tarkus
I can't believe anyone using a BitTorrent client would be worried about the increased size introduced by a help file. By definition BitTorrent is about sharing large files, and you're worried about the size of a help file?

Tarkus
Hendrix, I was actually referring to Keloran's message that it would increase the size of uTorrent a lot.I don't necessarily disagree that a Wiki is the way to go (assuming it's linked in the Help menu). I'm just saying anyone into BitTorrent shouldn't be worried about the file size of a help file.
